Yeah yeah yeah - part 2

Wow, sorry for not updating more recently - but life, as you know has been interesting. The pyschopaths at work decided that they would be better off without me for the next week and a half and subsequently told me to take the rest of the time off (with pay for the entire 30 day span that they promised me). Makes me all sorts of mad to know that they wanted me out so badly. The good news is that last night I secured a job with a shipping company based out of a city about 25 miles away. Not a horrible commute, but not the best either. The bad news is that they will probably hire me at a lower rate than I was getting at CMS. Good news is that I have found a job in just under a day, significantly reducing the amount of overall stress on me. Today I lounged about the house all day, of course that was between the long periods of time that I spent cleaning up around here.
We still haven't finished putting everything from our wedding away and there are still 3 big boxes in my (small) front yard as well as a few small ones around my door. I am going to try to slip one or two of those boxes in the trash tomorrow morning before the garbage truck comes to take it all away. With any luck I will be able to empty my front yard before Friday.
Even though it has only been a day and a half, I all ready feel like I am a looser for not having an actual job to go to. I know that my wages are paid up until the 26th, but that doesn't make me feel any better about being technically unemployeed. My wife has been extremely understanding of the whole situation - in fact everyone that I tell about my previous job tells me that they wouldn't have stayed as long as I did. Gives me a little tingly feeling - that staying against all odds sort of one. Although I know that I won't stay this long in the future, it just doesn't pay.

Yeah yeah yeah

Howdy all, been a long week for me. This week the inevitable doom of my job has grown closer and closer. I was technically threatened - again...my manager Mark (the corportate bastard) made a point of reminding me that they no longer needed me and that I was supposed to be arranging a meeting with Chris (the evil corportate overlord) if I planned on sticking around. Those sons of bitches, they only keep me around the last few weeks so they could go on vacation and do inventory. Now we are short handed - 2 yard guys, 3 office guys, 1 outside salesman, and of course 2 corporate "suits".
I'll be back later to finish my thoughts,
Until then,

Something New

I found a nice little thing called costofwar.com that offers a spiffy little counter thingie (which you can see on the right over there). If you visit their site, you can compare the cost so far to a few other things, my favorite is the number of kids who could have had a year of head-start paid for (about 7,860,000 as of this writing). Wow. Makes me wish that we had either done it right, or at least looked good while we are doing it.

New Feature!

YTD: -$30
That little thing there is my gambling loss / wins for this year (year to date). I saw this really cool little thing on another blog that I really liked (sorry, blog got lost before I decided that I would implement it too. Something about an Internet Poker Pro if someone finds it, let me know and I'll insert the appropriate link here). I'll try to keep it updated, which means that I won't put it in every post, but I will from time to time update it - so keep your eyes peeled.

Really

Really, I try to keep this thing updated - but then again I can be lazy. Today is no exception, except that I am posting an update. My wife picked out a beautiful bedroom set for our room and yesterday we went to Sacramento (California) to pick it up. Pick it up actually means meet a delivery truck. We stayed up way too late on Saturday (midnight-o'clock) and subsequently we didn't end up leaving until about 8:00 AM yesterday. We did arrive in plenty of time since Sacramento is only about 2.5 - 3 hours away and our delivery truck was supposed to meet us between 1 and 2. My father-in-law was kind enough to drive us down there and let us borrow his trailer (which came in mighty handy). We got it all home and unpacked and setup - which didn't take as long as it sounds, only about an hour for all five pieces (six if you count the mirror separate). Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank http://www.peoplesfurniture.net/ for the great deal on the furniture (for a picture, of our new stuff, check here) and thank them again for the over the top in friendly service. They went out of their way to offer to have their delivery truck meet us - saving us 5 hours worth of driving time.
Love, luck, and lollypops,
